A true technological gem, the James Webb Space Telescope has been exploring every corner of the Universe for over two years. From the birth of planets to that of the first galaxies to the composition of the atmosphere of exoplanets, the first discoveries of the space observatory are proving to be exceptional from a scientific point of view.

The Universe still holds many mysteries that astrophysicists and cosmologists are trying to unravel using ever more powerful telescopes. Since July 2022 and the commissioning of the James Webb Space Observatory, this community of researchers has had an analysis tool of unparalleled acuity. Originally designed to study the oldest galaxies formed a few hundred million years after the Big Bang, the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) is able to explore a much wider range of celestial bodies. Because with its immense 6.6-meter diameter mirror, the instrument developed by the American Space Agency (NASA) in collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Canadian Space Agency (CSA), has a sensitivity one hundred times greater than that of its predecessor, the Spitzer telescope.
